Here’s my wishlist for the week ahead. You may notice there’s no Monday listing, well fuck Monday’s, I hate Monday’s. Actually I quite like the beginning of the week and have just not got round to sorting Monday, so feel free to drop me a line with any tips. Let me know if you’re going to any of the gigs, have seen the bands before or how the gig went.
Expect volume here with 3 bands that know how to crank it up, but also can wow you with beautiful melodies. This should be a raucus affair with some of Ayr’s finest leading the way. Grab your tickets here.
Trapped in Kansas are simply one of the best bands in Scotland, catch them at a venue this size while you can. Get your tickets direct from the band with no booking fees here.
Cryptic Nights aims to deliver an evening “which explores contemporary cross art form work – from live performance to screen based work.” As Kitty The Lion are playing the music will be excellent, and with an emphasis on the visual arts it should also be a treat for the eyes. This sounds like a night well worth checking out, have a look at the Cryptic Nights website for more details.
I’m a big fan of Be A familiar and was blown away by their live show recently, check out the review here. With Galleries opening and a good overall bill I’d get down early. Click here for ticket details.
Check out my Hinterland Preview for details on bands, venues and tickets.
Attic Lights are due in the studio to work on their second record pretty soon, so the gig at Oran Mor may be the last time you’ll catch them for a while. Tickets are only a fiver, check the Oran Mor website for details.
