Depression Alliance UK – Tribute project in remembrance of the music of Elliot Smith, Vic Chesnutt and Mark Linkous

This is a fantastic project organised by Euan who writes The Steinberg Principle blog and fronts The Kays Lavelle. All proceeds go towards Depression Alliance UK and will help them support those suffering from depression and hopefully stop us losing some of our brightest stars in the future. All tracks are a bargain at a pound, and there are contributions from There Will Be Fireworks, Rob St John, Small Town Boredom, Sleepingdog, Keiran Naughton (Deserters Deserve Death), Burnt Island and Lotte Kestner. You can purchase all of the tracks here and find out a bit more here.

The Xcerts – Slackerpop

New single from the Aberdonian band, which is apparently doing very well so far. It’s a digital download only and available from iTunes and the usual places.

Tommy Reilly – Take Me Away For The Night

Details of how to purchase the singer-songwriters new single are on his myspace. Check out the video while you’re there, it’s rather good.
