The Glad Cafe

**WILLY MASON confirmed for Thursday’s show – details below**

The Glad Cafe is a new project being set up in Pollockshields, Glasgow, which will finally give the South side a much needed arts hub. The 200 capacity venue will also be home to a restaurant/cafe and give an outlet for the creative to further their talents.

To raise money for this new venture The Glad Cafe and 45-A-Side Records are releasing a compilation album featuring some of the finest talent in Scotland today.

The album includes tracks from:

Barn Owl (When No One Is Around below), Song Of Return, Olympic Swimmers, Conquering Animal Sound, Field Mouse, Dam Mantle, The Japanese War Effort, Fox Gut Daata, Yahweh, Debutant, Admiral Fallow, The Seventeenth Century, and The Moth And The Mirror.

I’d personally buy that album even if it was to raise money for depressed pigeons, but the fact it is for such a great cause makes the purchase all the more worthwhile.

You can pre-order the album for the paltry fee of £6, but it is a limited run so get in there fast.

There is also a launch night for the album at Stereo on September 30th. The night will feature live sets from album contributors Dam Mantle, Barn Owl, Conquering Animal Sound and Song Of Return, and a DJ set from Detour Scotland.

It should be a cracking night and you can buy tickets for just £4 now.

A major coup for the evening has just been confirmed with news that American singer-songwriter Willy Mason will be playing at the show. Willy is a world renowned artist and brings some additional star-power to proceedings. Below is a clip of his classic track Oxygen to get you in the mood for Thursday night. Make sure you get there in good time as he’ll be on early.
