Recommended #2 King Post Kitsch by The Son(s)

Posted on October 15, 2010

Recommended is a new feature for the blog where the bands will get a chance to highlight Scottish music they love.

It works on a rolling recommendation basis where the band being recommended one week will then get the chance to champion a band the next week and so on.

Hopefully this will create a chain with loads of great music being highlighted, and from many different perspectives.

Last week saw The Son(s) being the first entry into the Recommended log, so this week it’s their turn to choose a band.

Who are you recommending? and why?

King Post Kitsch because of their magnificent songs and fantastic name.

How would you describe the music?

It’s characterised by honey, spice and subtle oak, delicious sweet notes and smoothness. Oloroso sherry butts.

How did you discover this band/artist?

Well, their name really sticks in the mind doesn’t it? I’m not sure when we were first aware of them. Perhaps from their association with Song, By Toad. However they were recently on a Cloud_Sounds podcast/mixtape and that’s where we first really listened to them.

How would you describe the live experience?

We’ve heard it’s quite a sexual experience. That’s a lie which may be true…

If you had to suggest one of their songs to start someone off with what would it be?

Fante’s Last Stand (below). It’s pretty much a perfect song. From the first snatched dialogue, the melody & singing to the beautiful guitar solo.

A big Thanks to The Son(s) for their recommendation.

Next Friday King Post Kitsch will be answering some questions on the band they have chosen to recommend.
