This lovely video of Bear Bones playing acoustically in Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens appeared recently. The band played Heads The Size Of beds with the help of members of Admiral Fallow, Open Swimmer, Kettle of Kites and The Social Services.
Beerjacket recently did a Rokbun Session, playing in the less than conventional SECC overpass, and the video for Poor Captain Of The Soul has come out great. Check it out below, and head over to the excellent Rokbun website for loads more music related happenings. Also, a campaign has been started to get Beerjacket on the Jools Holland show. Join the Facebook group and help make this happen.
Glasgow band Crow Road will be releasing its debut EP at the end of May, and as a precursor they’ve posted the video for Shrivels and Peaks. You can also get an advanced listen to another track from the EP if you head over to the Crow Road Myspace.
The chaps from Detour Scotland took their shenanigans over to Austin for SXSW last week, and true to form caught some brilliant footage. Detour’s Big Walk features Admiral Fallow, Kid Canaveral, Rachel Sermanni, Bronto Skylift, and the Austin Police (that’s not a band name btw), and there is more footage on the Detour website.
Another American link here as I Build Collapsible Mountains builds up to his debut release in America with a little teaser video. Luke will be releasing an EP through Burning Building Records with UK and US tours to accompany it. Keep your eyes out for those dates.
Song, By Toad was also at SXSW recently and shot some footage of the event, giving us sods stuck at home another great taster of this massive event. This is the first of three video diaries that are on the Song, By Toad website, with loads of live footage, commentary and Toad’s very own ‘Hipster Cam’.
