MaGoodBody is the collaborative effort of Edinburgh songwriters Donna Maciocia, Stu Goodall and Paul Gilbody. The collective has been touring Scotland this week, and Edinburgh folk can still catch them tonight at Bond No. 9. Over The Wall are embarking on a British tour, taking in around 20 gigs over 80 days. It’s been dubbed Around The Isles In 80 Days, and the guys made this brilliant promo, with a return for the Over The Wall puppets. Dundee band Pensioner were interviewed in the run up to playing Sneak on Thursday. Sneak is a new monthly band night at Pivo Pivo (Glasgow), which sees the venue transformed for the occasion, and the proceedings caught on camera. It looks like being a really good night, check the gig listings for more details. Also, the band talk about their impending debut album, which is being released by Olive Grove Records on May 2nd.
Twin Atlantic track Edit Me was taken on by folk duo Twelfth Day and made into an entirely different beast. With female vocals, harp, violin, and piano, it’s far removed from the banging TA song, but is a great alternate version. Washington Irving are gearing up for the release of next single, Abbey Gallop, and a UK tour in April to accompany it. The band was caught on camera playing the single at The Diving Bell Lounge recently, and the stripped down version suggests the single will be another excellent WI release.
