Recommended #14 Min Diesel by Carson Wells

Posted on April 8, 2011

Your Neighbour The Liar answered the questions for Recommended #13 meaning Carson Wells are up this week.

Who are you recommending? and why?

Aberdonian three-piece Min Diesel – they are really good friends of ours and we’ve played with them countless times. They have a great name, great tunes and great hooks.

How would you describe the music?

Lo-fi garage grunge (m)indie rock. They sound like Sebadoh; if Sebadoh were raised in a city made entirely of granite. Some really interesting guitar work grounded by the rhythm section and Zippy’s tuneful, charming vocals.

How did you discover this band?

Aside from the fact we reside in the same city, Huw and Dave (bassists in CW and MD respectively) sometimes used to put on shows together and we knew Stu (drummer in MD) through his other band. Everybody knows Zippy.

How would you describe the live experience?

Really good fun. They rock hard and all have amazing playing faces.

If you had to suggest one of their songs to start someone off with what would it be?

When You Fall from their EP, Din Measles. It’s the hit single and has a phenomenal outro.

A big thanks to Carson Wells for the recommendation.

Keep up to date with all things Min Diesel on the band’s Tumblr.
