I mentioned Quintana Films last week, and they have another cracking promo I thought I’d share. It depicts events at a recent gig at The Wee Red Bar at which Discopolis and Blank Canvas co-headlined.

*shameless plug time, but it does mention it in the video* Blank Canvas will be heading over to Glasgow on August 11th to play Favourite Son Presents, and you can win a special handmade lyrics and artwork booklet from the band, and a load of other great stuff in the competition. Full details here.

Mechanical Smile recently embarked on a small tour of germany after winning an exchange competition through the University of the West of Scotland. They went with cameras in hand and put together this 15 minute recollection of events.

Quite a lot to report on Sonny Marvello. The band have just announced they will be releasing The Tiny Little Sparks EP on October 3rd through Ignite Records.  Fire Went Outwill be one of the tracks featured, and the video is actually footage from the recording sessions. The band also have a special launch for the EP planned at the Rowardennan Youth Hostel. Check the Facebook Event for that, it looks a good one.

The Tragic O’Hara Is Innocent Campaign has been set up after the making of his video for Jump On resulted in an anonymous legal threat. You can find out more about what’s happening on the Facebook Page, but I personally don’t see anything in that video to upset anyone.
The Traffic Cone Birthday Party is also doubling as a gig support of the campaign next Wednesday in Pivo Pivo. More details on the Facebook Event Page.

United Fruit need no introduction round these parts, but I was still pleased to find this video of the band being interviewed, and doing a TOTP style ‘live’ performance. I also saw the band play in King Tut’s last night, and they were phenomenal.

Another band that played King Tut’s this week was Vukovi. I was unable to make that one, but someone with a camera did and caught the band playing Snakes and Ladders. Your next chance to see the band live is tomorrow at The Wickerman Festival at 1pm in the Solas Tent.
