Recommended #25 Kaddish by Prelude To The Hunt

No Island answered some uestions for Recommended #24 meaning it’s now the turn of Prelude To The Hunt.

Who are you recommending? and why?

I am going to recommend Kaddish because they are one of the best Scottish bands going around on the live circuit and also in recorded form. They are one of the most passionate bands I have ever seen.
How would you describe the music?
Kaddish play traditional screamo or emotional hardcore (although I’m not sure that they would like these tags), and you would enjoy them if you were a fan of mid period Envy, …Who Calls So loud, Funeral Diner, La Quiete, Loma Prieta, etc.
How did you discover this band/artist?
Kaddish have been around for as long as I can remember. Pretty much when I started taking live playing more seriously their name started cropping up a lot more. I’m not sure of the exact time that I first saw them, but I remember being absolutely blown away. I was never too keen on the original vocalist, but still, the passion which this band bleed while playing live is just colossal.
How would you describe the live experience?
Inspiring, lets leave it at that.
If you had to suggest one of their songs to start someone off with what would it be?

…There Grows the Hours Ladder To the Sun from their self titled album. Buy it. The whole album is incredible. Very happy that they are finished/nearly finished recording a new one!

Finally, do you have anything else you’d like to add about this band?

Whenever you see their name dotted about, make sure you go see them, or have a look online for their album. It is easily one of the best things to come out of the UK – never mind Scotland – for some time. We are very lucky that we get the opportunity to play with them from time to time.

A big thanks to Prelude To The Hunt for the Recommendation.

You can get a hold of that Kaddish album on Bandcamp.
